Georges Hobeika: The Power of Heritage and Love
On 27 January, Georges Hobeika presented his Haute Couture SS25 collection in Paris at the National Museum of Natural History. This was a show about love—after all, fashion is made of stories, and stories turn into moments that remain engraved forever.
A Touching Tribute to Marie Hobeika
Father and son Georges and Jad Hobeika paid tribute to the matriarch of their family through what unites them most: couture.
Marie Hobeika, Georges’ mother and Jad’s grandmother, passed away in 2024, leaving behind something that even time cannot erase—love. This unique and unconditional love became the main inspiration for the collection.
A deep and intimate homage to Marie, who was the heart and foundation of the maison, an inexhaustible source of energy, wisdom, protection, and warmth.
The Power of Transmission
Yes! This collection speaks of heritage and transmission. After all, it was Marie who taught Georges the art of couture, and in turn, he passed on his savoir-faire to his son Jad, now the co-creator of the maison.

A true testament to the fact that love will always be present in their creations—and that it will never be just about the clothes.
The Stages of Grief
The collection began with a long series of black looks, symbolising grief not only for Marie but for all those who have experienced loss. Some models had dark eyes and tears painted onto their faces, evoking the raw emotion of mourning.
This was followed by shades of blue, representing the sky, and then vibrant colours such as green, lilac, and red, forming a rainbow of life and energy.
The show concluded with white, metallic, and celestial tones, symbolising hope. Despite the sorrow, this was a collection filled with love and light.
Transcending Fashion
Georges and Jad Hobeika delivered a Haute Couture collection that went beyond fashion. Every piece was a tribute to Marie Hobeika, who embodied the timeless elegance of the maison.
From intricate embroidery to the cage dress adorned with 3D birds, the collection featured head capes reminiscent of veils, trunk-shaped handbags tied with metallic bows, and impeccable handcrafted details.
Accessories such as ribbon-shaped earrings symbolising love, a beehive and bee-embroidered gown, and floral embroidery, feathers, lace, transparency, and dazzling embellishments all contributed to a mesmerising vision.
An Invisible Thread
“A soul roams around the Earth, grasping for hands once dear.
Softly, a glorious path unfolds, drawing it to heaven’s gates,
Hearing whispers that call it forth, beyond the veils of doubt and fear,
Where celestial creatures spiral and dance, in cosmic harmony of fates.
The soul then rises to the very light, unearthly, released,
And merges with eternity, embracing absolute peace.”
This collection celebrates the moments lived, the savoir-faire, the heritage, and the traditions that remain connected through an invisible thread.
After all, when it comes to love, there are no limits.
