THE MOON ILLUMINATES PIERRE CARDIN
“One small step for man, but one giant leap for mankind.” These were the words spoken by Neil Armstrong as he took his first step on the Moon. And it was this celestial body that took centre stage as the grand muse of Pierre Cardin’s latest fashion show.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
If we delve into the past of the brand founded by Pietro Costante Cardin—better known as Pierre Cardin—it becomes clear that it has always had its sights set on the future, drawing inspiration from planetary phenomena. I must admit, I was completely enchanted, as I have always held a certain fascination with the Moon since childhood. After all, it possesses a mystical, almost supernatural energy.
A SPACE-INSPIRED COLLECTION
For the Autumn/Winter 2025/2026 collection, the Moon served as an endless source of mystery, paying homage to the innovative spirit of Pierre Cardin. The show presented 56 sculptural and avant-garde silhouettes, celebrating a lunar aesthetic with futuristic precision.
A LUNAR JOURNEY
Fasten your seatbelts for an intergalactic voyage. From silver reflections to metallic textures, astronaut helmets, and floating volumes gliding down the runway, the collection transported the audience beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Futuristic sunglasses, designed to shield against cosmic radiation, added to the celestial allure, while lunar craters appeared across some designs, reinforcing the collection’s architectural DNA—an unmistakable Pierre Cardin signature.
The runway was invaded by astronaut-like models, while vibrant colours symbolised raw energy. Futuristic masks invited us to embark on a journey into the unknown. Jumpsuits took centre stage, especially a denim version with exaggerated hip volumes, reminiscent of the suits worn by astronauts, reimagined in various forms. The entire experience was enhanced by the spellbinding sounds of a live violinist, making the moment even more surreal.
BEINGS FROM PLANET CARDIN
Models or visitors from Planet Cardin? The show’s mesmerising beauty looks were crafted by Brazilian makeup artist Eliezer Lopes, in collaboration with the Franco-Korean brand Mirê Cosmetics. The makeup embraced a supernatural glow, with lunar halo-inspired eyeliner, mimicking the optical phenomenon caused by moonlight refracting through ice crystals in Earth’s atmosphere. Neon shades of orange, purple, pink, and green illuminated the collection, adding a cosmic vibrancy.
The eyelids shimmered with a highlighter reminiscent of a comet’s tail, a meticulously crafted detail by the makeup artist. Blush La Poudre Dual by Mirê Cosmetics brought life to the cheeks, while the lips were enhanced with a hydrating gloss, giving the models—or should we say the beings of Planet Cardin—a celestial allure, ready for their interstellar journey.
THE MOON IN ALL ITS GLORY
The show was staged at La Géode, a futuristic cinema with an iconic metallic sphere that served as the perfect backdrop for this cosmic spectacle. And as if by divine alignment, the Moon itself was present, casting its radiant glow over the venue—a poetic reminder that cycles renew and begin again, and that there is always another step to take.
And so, with hearts full of anticipation, we eagerly await our next journey into the Pierre Cardin universe…
