Who is Justin Cassin?
I’m a creative person driven by a passion for design and personal style.
What made you become a designer? Was it always your wish?
I was in the sporting world, then the corporate world, but the creative pull was always there.
What are you most proud of?
Being part of the creative community. I enjoy the energy, the diversity, the sense of self, varying points of view. It inspires me every day.
How would you describe your creative process?
I travel a lot and am inspired by the energy of a place, its people, and their sense of style and self.
Did you expect all the success?
I work hard. When you expect success, you’re more likely to have success.
What do you want to achieve next?
Continue to expand globally. Continue to present quality fashion and shows in 2024.
How do you define your brand's DNA?
Confident, stylish with a sense of fun.
What do you add to your brand that comes from your Australian origins?
Australians have a sense of humour and don’t take themselves too seriously. I like to put that sense of fun into my designs.
What would be your masterpiece?
Jackets and coats are our best-loved pieces.
How do you deal with criticism of your work?
Anyone putting their work to the public will attract criticism. It doesn’t bother me.
Do you consider yourself a perfectionist?
I like things the way I like them but I wouldn’t call myself a perfectionist.
Has the pandemic changed your way of seeing and making fashion?
The way people dressed and bought fashion changed. Emerging from that time, I believe people want design, colour and a sense of fun.
